PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of the bar code reading of a sensor by forcibly turning the distance between the sensor and the surface of the bar code to be constant. CONSTITUTION:By pushing up a platen 9, etc., the distance between a sensor 5 and the surface of a bar code 6 is turned to be constant. Namely, the platen 9 is clamped, the passbook 2 is pushed up to be stuck to a form guide 10, and the bar code sensor 5 mounted on a printing carrier 4 performs scanning while carrying the printing carrier 4 by a stepping motor driving. By this operation, the information of the passbook bar code is accurately transmitted to the main body of a reader. Therefore, the malfunction is prevented even when the thickness of media varies according to pages. Thus, the accuracy of reading can be improved. |
