PURPOSE:To improve the smoothness of the face to be worked, by forming wire with the single wire or stranded wire of either piano wire, tungsten wire or low carbon two structual steel wire at >300kg/mm<2> tensile strength, and forming a resin coating layer on at least one part of the outer surface. CONSTITUTION:The face 23 to be worked is subjected to polishing by moving a polishing wire 2 with its abutment on the face 3 to be worked together with abrasive grains 4, in the state of the specified tension being aced. In this case, the wire 2 is composed of the single wire or stranded wire of either piano wire, tungsten wire or low carbon two structural steel wire 5 at >300kg/mm<2> tensile strength and yet a resin coating layer 7 is formed on at least one part of the outer surface. Consequently, the excessive biting onto the face 3 to be worked of the abrasive grains 4 interposed between the wire 2 and the face 3 to be worked is eased with the elasticity of this resin coating layer 7 and also the abrasive grains 4 cutting the wire 2 itself is relaxed by the resin coating layer 7. |
