LIGHT LEAKABLE OPTICAL FIBER AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To attain light leaking expression with a high natural feel by intermittently forming the patterns for intensifying and weakening the intensity of light leakage on the straight optical fiber in its axial direction. CONSTITUTION:A gear 2 is rotationally moved in an arrow direction of Fig. relative to the straight optical fiber 1 mounted on a stationary base while the optical fiber is pressed by a member 2 having a rugged structure, by which the light leakable optical fiber 3 intermittently having sectional distortions in the axial direction is formed. The simultaneous pressing treatment of plural pieces of the optical fibers at one time is possible if the gear 2 having a broad tooth width is used.
