PURPOSE:To prevent excessive consumption and scattering of toner by stopping picture forming operations and performing emergency stop control for setting a color picture forming device to an initialized state by means of an emergency stop signal. CONSTITUTION:When an emergency stop signal is inputted from an emergency stop key, a control unit 13 stops the scanning of an electrifying and exposing lamp 16 so as to stop original and image exposing operations, developing sleeves 34, and cooling fan of a lamp unit 17 simultaneously with the input of the stop signal and successively actuates a destaticizer 8 and cleaning device 9 so as to remove adhering toner. Since the developing sleeves 34 of developing devices 25, 26, and 27 are stopped simultaneously with the input of the emergency signal, no developing agent is supplied to a photosensitive drum 1 thereafter. Therefore, excessive consumption and scattering of the toner are prevented and mixing of the toner on an image carrying body to developing devices of other colors is also prevented. |
