PURPOSE:To more rapidly start forming the images of a next document and to shorten the time for forming the images of plural documents by outputting a document replacement completion signal to an image forming device side before the original replacement is actually completed. CONSTITUTION:The scanning of an optical system 7 is started at time t1, returning is executed at t2 and restoration to a home position at t3. An automatic document feeder (DF) starts the document replacement at the t2 and the jamming detecting switch 32 is turned off at time 4. Then, timers 42 and 43 are actuated and the document replacement completion signal is outputted to a main body control part 50 from a DF control part 40 at t5 after a set time T2 has elasped. As for the main body, the scanning is started at the t5, whereas the document replacement is completed by stopping each motor at t6. Since exposure is started at t7, a dead time for the document replacement is between the t6 and the t7 and is adjusted by a timer, whereby, the copying of the plural documents can be accelerated. |
