摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the processing accuracy by respectively forming a first and a second guide channels with a channel central part corresponding to parts symmetry with a channel center line of the guide channel and two channel side parts provided in both sides of the channel central part and corresponding to parts asymmetry with the channel center line and having a depth deeper than that of the channel central part. CONSTITUTION:Each first guide channel 15 of an outer joint member 1 consists of two first channel side parts 17 corresponding to both side parts asymmetry with a channel center line L and having a deep depth and a first channel central part 19 corresponding to parts symmetry with the channel center line L and having a depth shallower than that of the first channel side parts 17. The first guide channel 15 is formed by milling processing, and after performing hardening to the surface, a rolling contact surface of a ball 3 is processed only in the first channel central part 19. Each second guide channel 24 of outer joint member 2 consists of two second channel side parts 26 corresponding to both side parts asymmetry with a channel center line L and having deep depth and a second channel central part 28 corresponding to parts symmetry with the channel center line L and having a depth shallower than that of the second channel side parts 26. The second guide channel 24 is formed by milling processing, and after performing hardening to the surface, polishing processing is performed to only the second channel central part 28.
