PURPOSE:To provide a thermal transfer recording material having specially high thermal diffusibility, color sharpness and superb light-fastness by providing a layer containing a specific cyan color on a support. CONSTITUTION:In formula (1) of cyan color, R1 is hydrogen atom, halogen atom and an alkyl group. R2 is a negative electron-donative substitution group indicating a Hammett sigma para constant of the substitution group, if (n) is 1 and a combination of substitution groups indicating the negative sum of the sigma para value of hamet of the substitution groups, if (n) is 2 or 3. R and R' are hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group or a hetero-cyclic group. X is hydroxyl or -N(R3)R4 (R3, R4 are an alkyl group which may have a substitution group respectively). Symbol (m) is an integer of 1 to 4 and (n) is an integer of 1 to 3. The color content of a thermally sensitive layer should preferably be 0.1 to 20g for 1m<2> of a support. A thermal transfer material is superposed on an image receiving material, then a heat of appropriate calorific value to image information is applied to the thermal transfer material. Thus the cyan color is allowed to migrate from the thermally sensitive layer to an image receiving material and thereby an image is formed on the image receiving material. |
