<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the high-quality resin bat for baseball with good productivity while using relatively inexpensive materials by constituting the bat of a core material having a bat shape and an outer peripheral layer consisting of elastomer-modified norbornene polymer. CONSTITUTION:The materials of the core material 1 are exemplified by wood, such as oak, zelkovas and cedars, metals, such as aluminum and stainless steels, plastics, such as polyethylene and polypropylene, rubbers, foams of plastics and rubbers, etc. The fibers to be used for the fiber-reinforced norbornene polymer are exemplified by glass, carbon, nylon, steels, polyethylene, etc. The norbornene polymer having norbornene rings is preferable. The core material of the bat shape or the core material of the bat shape laminated with the long fibers on the outer peripheral surface is previously installed in a metallic mold 3 and a reaction liquid is injected or impregnated into the gaps between the core material and the inside surface of the mold or into the laminated fibers. Consequently, the resin layer having decreased residual stresses by reacting under a low pressure is obtd. and, therefore, the high-strength bat is economically obtd. from the inexpensive materials with the good productivity.</p> |
