Adjuster with displacement transducer - has simple, compact analogue position measurement arrangement for control pin

A control device with a transducer has a pin (10) protruding out of its housing with a coil body (11) carrying two primary coils (12,13) and a secondary coil (14) in which a voltage is induced. The pin is at least partially of magnetic material and protrudes into the coil body. The primary coils are independently stimulated by an a.c. signal of adjustable phase and amplitude and their magnetic fields are opposed. The null point of the output signal from the secondary coil is adjustable and is a measure of the pin position. USE/ADVANTAGE- Simple, compact arrangement enables accurate analogue position measurement with few components.
