PURPOSE:To prevent the graininess of projected images generated by the gap parts of picture elements from exceeding by limiting the enlargement magnification of the respective microlenses disposed between a display device consisting of the plural picture elements disposed by having the gap parts between the respective square picture elements and the projecting lens which projects the images onto a screen surface. CONSTITUTION:The enlargement magnification beta is set within the range of (a+b)/b-y1/100<=beta<=(a+b)b-y2/100 when the width of the respective gap parts 3 between the respective picture elements 1 of the display device is designated as (a), the respective transverse width of the respective picture elements 1 as (b), and the distortion aberrations at b/2<1/2> (position A) and b/2(position B) object heights of the respective microlenses are respectively designated as y1 [%] and y2[%]. The overlaps of the virtual images 2 are decreased to the extent of preventing the graininess of the projected image from exceeding and, therefore, the quality of the projected images is improved. |
