PURPOSE:To reduce thickness by setting a cold cathode tube as a light source in the body of a case. CONSTITUTION:A light conductor 2b receiving light for irradiation from a light source 6 and diffusing this light over the entire surface of a liq. crystal display 2 is fixed on the cover 1b of a portable case fitted with the display 2 and a cold cathode tube 6 as the light source is set in the body 1a of the case fitted with a keyboard 4 for input, a floppy disk drive 3, a control board 5, etc. A window 7 for allowing light to enter from he tube 6 is pierced in the cover 1b. Since light guided to the cover 1b through the window 7 lightens a liq. crystal display screen 2b through the conductor 2b of the display 2, thickness can be reduced. |
