PURPOSE:To permit impact test at actual service temp. with a test piece of high impact strength by exerting bending stress to the test piece and giving impact of breaking type to the maximum stress part. CONSTITUTION:A test piece P is bent in its thickness direction and is grasped at both end parts by grasping members 4. With bending stress held applied thereto, it is set on a base table 1. Thence, by sliding horizontal rods 21, 22, a vertical cylinder 3 is so adjusted as to come to right above the central part of the test piece P, and the blade tip of a blade body 6 is placed on the maximum stress part P1 of the test piece P at a right angle thereto through a slit 51 for insertion of blade body of an inverted U-shaped bridge 5. Next, a prescribed weight 7 is dropped by gravity from the mid-part of the inside of the cylinder 3 and is allowed to collide against the back part of the body 6 projecting from the top surface of the bridge 5, whereby the impact test is carried out. |
