A golf swing training device (100) includes a rigid base (110) to which simulated turf (130) is detachably secured by fasteners of hooks and loops (140) which readily interlock, or disengage, when pressed together, or pulled apart, respectively. The rigid base (110) includes diverse forms of alignment aids (115) which remind a golfer to square the club face before starting a backswing. Two elongated members (151, 155) are detachably joined at a right angle by fasteners of hooks and loops (157) to form a stance alignment aid (150) including a pivot (154) joined to the rigid base (110). In an alternate golf swing training mat (1100), a removed portion in the shape of a trapezoid (1138) is provided so that an oblique edge (1135) abuts the hitting edge (1132) of the mat (1100), and a proper follow through of the golf club head in a practice swing will not strike the mat (1100). |
