摘要 PURPOSE:To alleviate a shock during the selection of travel mode in a travel control device for a forklift truck or the like in the title by correcting a target speed with the deviation, when a deviation between target and actual speeds is within a tolerance, correcting the target speed with the tolerance, when the deviation is outside the tolerance, and adjusting a clutch with the corrected target speed. CONSTITUTION:CPU 24 makes judgement as to whether a cargo handling vehicle is in normal travel or cargo handling travel mode involving the operation of a cargo handling lever 9, on the basis of signals detected with an accelerator sensor 18 and a lever sensor 21. The CPU 24 operates a deviation between an actual speed taken from a speed sensor 17 and target speed calculated on the basis of a stepping amount for an accelerator pedal 19 at the time of travel mode selection, upon judgement that the travel mode is changed over to cargo handling travel mode. When the deviation is within a tolerance, the target speed is corrected with the deviation. Also, when the deviation is outside the tolerance, the target speed is corrected with the tolerance. A corrected target speed is thereby obtained. Finally, the CPU 24 controls a clutch actuator drive circuit 28 in such a way as to keep a travel speed opposite to the corrected target speed.
