PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a compressor having a transmission by providing the transmission between a compressor input shaft and a travel engine output shaft, and a control means for fixing the gear ratio of the transmission at a corresponding value, when an engine speed detected with a sensor drops below the predetermined value. CONSTITUTION:A compressor 1 having a transmission is constituted with wave brake type compressors 40 connected in series via a frictional and continuously variable transmission device 20, and the driven pulley 8 of the transmission 20 is connected to the driving pulley of an automotive travel engine 9 via a belt 11. The compressor 1 is thereby driven with the travel engine 9. Also, a control section 90 includes an engine speed comparison circuit, a gear ratio calculation circuit and a transmission section drive circuit. Furthermore, the control section 90 takes in the speed of the engine 9 from a sensor 94, and makes comparison in the aforesaid comparison circuit. When engine speed is found equal to or less than the predetermined value, a gear ratio corresponding to the speed is fixed and gear ratio control operation is stopped. According to the aforesaid construction, the unreasonable operation of the transmission can be avoided. |
