The present invention provides an automatic blanket wash system that recirculates a separable mix of water and solvent. The mix is selectively applied to the blankets of blanket cylinders by selectively opening spray valves associated with spray bars (125, 126) at the blankets. The mix circulates through the system at low pressure until just prior to the commencement of spraying at which time a diverter valve (32) in a unit control (121-124) to upper and lower spray bars opens and permits the mixture to flow through a fluid path in the spray bars. A pressure control arrangement then causes a pressure build up in the system for the spraying of the mix onto the blankets.
