This alloy is used for the preparation of ceramic-coated dentures, crowns and bridges. It offers optimal relative extension, hardness and yielding characteristics, low tendency for thermal expansion and high corrosion resistance, and has a homogeneous fine-grained texture with no chemical segregation. The odontological alloy has the following chemical composition, in percentage (m/m): nickel 52-64, chromium 27-34, molybdenum 3-11, silicon 1.5-9.0, iron 0.05-0.7, copper 0.01-0.25, cerium 0.02-0.4, neodymium 0.01-0.4, praseodymium 0.01-0.15 and aluminium 0.02-1.1, and is further alloyed with 0.1-0.9 percent cobalt.
