PURPOSE:To ensure that foreign matter such as waste of recording material, dust or refuse sticking to a transport path is removed and thereby contamination of a recording sheet in transport is prevented by transporting a cleaning sheet along a recording sheet transport path in an image recording device. CONSTITUTION:A cut cleaning part 3 passes through guides for recording sheet transport l7, 18 and further, runs over a platen l0, then is discharged to an area outside an image recording device, when the part 3 is discharged. When the part 3 passes between the guides l7, l8, the former comes in contact with the guides 17, 18 and the platen 10, and therefore, ink droplets 19 sticking to the guide for recording sheet transport 18 or foreign matter such as dust or dried ink sticking to the platen 10 are removed. |
