Apparatus used for automatically determining the diameter of lenses to be inserted in spectacle frames. The invention relates to an electronic apparatus which provides the optician with a quick means of determining whether a lens is actually suitable for a given frame. This apparatus is designed around a microprocessor (1) and mainly includes a data base (2) containing the dimensions, brands and types of lens available on the market, and a scale 1 LCD screen (5). The microprocessor draws out the lenses according to the following parameters: pupillary distance, type of focal length, commercial information, etc. The optician then places his frame on the screen and thus accurately determines whether the lens selected exactly corresponds with the frame. A keyboard allows him to alter certain parameters and thus to change the lens diameter. This apparatus is mainly intended for opticians' shops. <IMAGE>
