PURPOSE:To reduce the capacity of a look up table (LUT) by outputting the information of a low-order bit at least of stored first and second picture information to the LUT selectively corresponding to the synthesized information of first and second picture information stored in advance. CONSTITUTION:A control memory stores segmental information to synthesize picture information A and B stored in picture memories 21 and 22. A multiplexer circuit (MP) 24 outputs the information of a low-order bit at least of the picture information A and B to an LUT 25 selectively. That is, the MP 24 possesses MPs 24a (J0 to J7) to select and to output the respective bits of a most significant bit A 7 of the picture information A or a least significant bit B0 of the picture information B, a second-order bit A6 of the picture information A or the 7th-order bit B1 of the picture information B to the least significant bit A7 of the picture information A or a most significant bit B7 of the picture information B. The MPs J0 to J7 output a selecting signal to the LUT 25 by switching control signals K0 to K7 of a control LUT 24b.
