PURPOSE:To maintain a constant carrying speed by detecting the weight of a linear motor carrier, including the object to be carried, which is driven by means of a plurality of primary armatures on the track side and regulating the voltage to be applied on the primary armature according to thus detected weight. CONSTITUTION:A carrier 10 is mounted on a section 12a which is provided by cutting a part of a rail 12 to be slightly longer than the carrier 10. Total weight of the carrier 10, the section 12a of rail and an object W to be carried is then measured by a weight measuring means 15. A secondary conductor 14 and a speed detector 19 are disposed on the rear surface of the carrier. A plurality of primary armatures 13 and proximity sensors 30 are arranged alternately in the longitudinal direction of the rail 20. The primary armatures 13 and the secondary conductors 14 constitute a linear motor 11. A CPU(not shown) regulates the voltage to be applied on the primary armature 13 based on the measured weight, and the signals from speed and proximity sensors. Consequently, the carrier 10 is operated with constant speed regardless of the weight of object to be carried, and the system is preferably employed in production line. |
