This external fixator for reducing fractures of the wrist comprises a monobloc bar (2) on which are mounted, in a slidable manner, at least two assemblies (3) forming a support for self-drilling fixation pins (4), these assemblies (3) each comprising one jaw (5) for immobilising the pins (4) and another jaw (7), the cheeks (7a, 7b) of which enclose between them, by virtue of suitable recesses which they possess, a slotted ring (8) engaged in a slidable manner on the bar (2) and having a substantially spherical external shape, the cheeks (7a, 7b) being capable of holding the ring (8) tightly on the bar (2) in order to immobilise it against sliding on the latter. <IMAGE>
