PURPOSE:To eliminate strike-through and to carry out excellent ink jet full-color printing at high speed by providing an aqueous ink acceptive coating layer based on highly water-absorbable pigment and a water-soluble polymer adhesive to the single surface of paper and providing a layer containing a sizing agent to the opposite surface thereof. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous ink acceptive coating layer based on highly water- absorbable pigment and a water-soluble polymer adhesive is provided to the single surface of paper based on cellulose pulp whose Stockigt sizing degree is 1 - 20 sec in a ratio of 0.5 - 15g/m<2> and a layer containing 0.01 - 0.5 g/m<2> of a sizing agent is provided to the opposite surface thereof. The highly water- absorbable pigment used at this time pref. contains minute particulate synthetic silicic acid being developable white pigment as the main component. as the adhesive, a synthetic polymer adhesive such as polyvinyl alcohol or polyacrylamide or a natural water-soluble polymer such as protein like casein, starch or a starch derivative is pref. because the adhesiveness to the highly water-absorbable pigment and the affinity to aqueous ink are good liquid absorbability is enhanced within a short time. |
