A container is made in two halves from glass fibre reinforced plastics. The two halves are held together in the central vertical plane by a connecting profile and are reinforced by a bottom frame of another profile. A profile parallel to the latter on the sides carries hinges for bottom flaps which are held closed by wires leading to lifting eyes in the top centre when a crane lifts them; they are opened, when above a truck, by releasing the eyes. Lids cover the filler openings. Corrugations help to strengthen the long side walls.
