<p>A cellular radio system is described in which a plurality of base stations (1, 5) each having a radio transceiver, provide radio coverage over a respective radio coverage area. Identification transmitters (8) repeatedly transmit an identification signal over an identified radio coverage area (10) which is at least partially within one of the said radio coverage areas, so that a mobile station (6) having a radio transceiver can communicate with one of the base stations, and upon receipt of the identification signal the mobile station can be determination to be within the said identified radio coverage of the identification transmitter.</p> |
