Current surge suppression circuit for induction heating cooker - has temp. sensors in hot plate and controls for drive transistor collector voltage

The heating element has a temp. sensor (6) in the hotplate, a temp. sensor (17) in the top grilling plate and a monitor (16) for the collector voltage of a power transistor which drives the heating. A processor control monitors the sensors and controls the current peaks if any of the systems indicates overheating, or an abnormal condition. The system smoothes out current spikes and transients by a progressive control, as well as protecting from overheating. A timing control regulates monitoring/control cycles. The detecting systems are coupled to the controller by decoupling diodes. USE/ADVANTAGE - Active temp. control. Avoids excessive electromotive force or break-down voltages. Esp. for e.m. induction cooker to prevent overheating of hotplate or upper grilling plate.
