A FRICTION CLUTCH

A friction clutch for a motor vehicle has flywheel (16), a cover (20), a diaphragm spring (30) and a pressure plate (24). A drive shaft member (80) has a driven plate (14) mounted on it and has a ridge (86) which forms the inner race of a bearing (88). A slave cylinder (40) comprising a cylinder body (62) and a piston (64) acts between the bearing (88) on the drive shaft member (80) and the diaphragm spring (30) to release the clutch.
