The invention relates to a device for controlling the exhaust gas recirculation in an internal combustion engine (1) having an intake duct (2) and an exhaust gas duct (3), with an exhaust gas recirculating duct (4) connecting the intake duct (2) and the exhaust gas duct (3) to one another, in which a control valve (5) is provided for the exhaust gas flow, with devices for sensing and emitting signals corresponding to the engine speed, the engine coolant temperature and the engine load and with a control device (18), which controllably supplies a vacuum to a control valve (5) provided with a first vacuum diaphragm device (9). In order to improve a device of the generic type for controlling the exhaust gas recirculation, so that the exhaust gas return rate can be metered as a function of the operating point without the additional expense of control parameters from a control unit, it is proposed that the control valve (5) has a second diaphragm device (8), which is mechanically connected to the first diaphragm device (9) and functions in opposition to the force created by the vacuum, the second diaphragm device (8) being connected to the exhaust gas duct (3) via a control duct (20) and being acted upon by the exhaust gas counter-pressure of the internal combustion engine (1). <IMAGE> |
