A universal joint for torque transmission comprises an outer joint member (11) having circumferentially spaced tracks (18) in its interior, an inner joint member (12) having part-spherical sockets (13) facing the tracks in the outer joint member, and a torque transmitting ball (14) engaged in each socket and associated track, the balls (14) being supported in the sockets by a plurality of bearing balls (15) to enable them to roll in the sockets and along the tracks. <IMAGE>
