PURPOSE:To obtain indole with an entirely different method as before by affecting microorganism belonging to genus Enterobacter having producibility of indole from tryptophan on tryptophan. CONSTITUTION:Microorganism (e.g. FERM P-11470) belonging to genus Enterobacter having producibility of indole from tryptophan is affected on tryptophan and indole is produced and accumulated, then resultant indole is collected. Besides, microorganism belonging to genus Enterobacter isolated from hot spa water of CHUGU spa at YOSHINOYA village, ISHIKAWA district, ISHIKAWA prefecture, having 0.5-1X1.5-2mum size and with mobility and mycological properties such as negative Gram stainability is preferably used as said microorganism. |
