The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for monitoring pumps and pump systems which comprise at least one pump 10 with members arranged in association therewith. So as to make operation safer and avoid breakdown in any part of the system, relevant data, obtained on acceptance testing and specific to the pump in question, is first fed into a memory 24 forming part of a first computer 20, and instantaneous values corresponding to said data are collected during operation of the pump from sensors 16-19 located on the pump 10 and/or on components belonging to it, and these values are fed into the computer 10, where they are processed, evaluated and compared at 26 with corresponding values stored in said memory of the computer, after which deviations from the normal value which exceed a predetermined threshold value and are established by comparison are made to trigger a warning or alarm signal or an emergency stop of the pump. <IMAGE> |
