A spinning rotor (4) is mounted rotatably about an axis (12) on a two-for-one rotor (8) which is itself mounted rotatably about the same axis (12) on a housing (1). The two-for-one rotor (8) is set in rotational movement via a driving wheel (15), and the spinning rotor (4) executes an oppositely directed rotation driven via a planet gear consisting of a gear ring (20) fastened to the housing (1), of a transmission gearwheel (21) mounted eccentrically on the two-for-one rotor (8) and having a gear ring (24) and of a driving gear wheel (25) connected to the spinning rotor (4). Fibres are transported via a feed channel (17) into a cavity (6) surrounded by the spinning rotor and yarn (28) is drawn off through a draw-off orifice (7) into a draw-off channel (14) and guided back in an arc externally around the spinning rotor (4) to the axis (12). Two further turns are thereby imparted to the yarn (28) per revolution of the two-for-one rotor (8) in a similar way to two-for-one twisting.
