PURPOSE:To prevent the drain from a pilot hole from flowing into inboard a boat during the operation of an outboard motor by providing projecions extending athwartships on an arm for a swivel bracket which supports the outboard motor in such a manner that it can rotate to port and starboard. CONSTITUTION:A casing 10b of a outboard motor is supported by a swivel bracket 30 which allows the motor to rotate, and the bracket 30 is attached to a cramp bracket 20 which is fixed to a transom T. Over the bracket 30, there is a fitting arm 33 extending forward and almost horizontally, and, on top of the arm 33, two rows of projections 33a and 33b are provided. These projections extend athwartships over a small boat or in lengthwise direction of the transom T. When the outboard motor takes the position as shown in the figure during motor's go-astern-operation, the engine cooling water discharged from a pilot hole 13 tends to flow over the fitting arm 33 toward the boat. However, the water flows athwartships owing to the projections 33a and 33b, which prevents the water from flowing into inboard the boat. |
