PURPOSE:To utilize a data processor and a storage device efficiently by permitting the data processor, including ''kanji'' (Chinese character) data, to perform internal data processing with required byte constitution on the basis of input and output instructions and a record-format definition statement. CONSTITUTION:On the basis of an input instruction and a record-format definition statement sent from a processing program 11, input data which is two-byte data like ''kanji'' one is fetched, as it is, into the processing program 11 through input data lines 17 and 18 by an input control signal 16. When the input data is one-byte one, one unnecessary byte is erased by the input control signal 16 and the data is fetched into the processing program 11. On the basis of an output instruction and the record-format definition statement from the processing program 11, two-byte data is sent out, as it is, via an output data converter 15. One-byte data is sent to the data converter 15, where one byte is added to obtain two-byte data, which is then sent out. |
