PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical switch in which a leakage of light is prevented. SOLUTION: The optical switch is provided with a plate member essentially made up of polymer and a driving means, the plate member has an optical waveguide 2 extending linearly in the plate member and a main switch 12 composed of slits furnished so as to cross the waveguide 2, the driving means selects the path of light by reducing or increasing the gap of the slits, and subswitches 13a and 13b composed of slits for switching optical signals are provided on the side of output ports 14a and 14b of the main switch 12.
