PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic carrier for a two-component developer free of occurrence of image defects such as voids, giving high image density and excellent in dot reproducibility even in a system in which development is carried out by rotating a developing sleeve and a photoreceptor in forward directions. SOLUTION: In the magnetic carrier obtained by coating the surface of a magnetic substance dispersed resin core comprising at least a magnetic substance and a binder resin with a coating material, the coating material comprises a fluororesin and at least 1-40 parts by mass of fine particles based on 100 parts by mass of the fluororesin, an amount of the coating material is 0.3-4.0 parts by mass based on 100 parts by mass of the magnetic substance dispersed resin core, and a contact angle of the magnetic carrier is 95-125°.
