PURPOSE:To allow a passenger to safely board a cage by lighting a hall button by the operation of the hall button, once denying a previously registered hall call at the time of stopping a cage on the hall, prohibiting the automatic opening of a door by the operation of a switch provided in the hall, and then opening the door by the operation of the hall button. CONSTITUTION:When a hall button is operated on a ground floor when a cage is on a second floor, for example, a ground floor hall call is registered, a hall button lamp is lighted, the cage is set downward and starts to travel. When no cage call is present when the cage approaches the first floor, the cage is decelerated to stop the ground floor, if the stop to the hall call is determined, and the hall button lamp is extinguished. When the cage is stopped within the door openable range, a hall lamp is flashed to indicate the arrival of the cage in a hall position (at this point of time, a door is not opened).
