<p>PURPOSE:To get a voltage-dependent nonlinear resistance element for low voltage excellent in mechanical strength and the quantity of surge resistance and easy in process management by providing contact layers, consisting of one element among Cr, Mn, Fe, Zn, Sn, and T, between a sintered body and metallic electrodes. CONSTITUTION:Contact layers 2A and 2B, consisting of at least one element among Cr, Mn, Fe, Zn, Sn, and T, are provided between a sintered body 3 and metallic electrodes 1A and 1B. Hereupon, the contact layers 2A and 2B, where at least one out of Cr, Mn, Fe, Zn, Sn, and T is introduced into a zinc oxide, are high in electron concentration, and are low resistance layers, so the Schottky barriers between the zinc oxides and the metallic electrodes 1A and 1B become extinct or become minute. Hereby, a voltage-dependent nonlinear resistance element, which is excellent in mechanical strength, and the quantity of surge resistance, and easy in the process management in manufacture, can be obtained.</p> |
