The invention relates to a device for holding a roll of paper, in which end support elements (1) are coupled to the two ends of a mandrel (C) of a roll of paper (P). Each of the end support elements (1) comprises a principle element (2) and an auxiliary element (10) inserted in the principle element (2). The principle element (2) has several arm elements (5), a first flange (collar) element (3) and an axial hole (2a) which opens out. The auxiliary element (10) has a second flange and a tubular element (15). When the auxiliary elements (10) are each turned through a predetermined angle, the end holding elements (1) are fastened to the two ends of the roll of paper. <IMAGE>
