Method and installation for processing irradiated and contaminated wastes in which the latter are sorted on a table (10). The wastes, made of glass, plastic, etc., are shredded (14) then dried by removal of water (15, 16), centrifuging (19) and blowing (23). They arrive perfectly dry at barrels (31) where they are removed from the installation. It is then possible to store them without difficulty. <IMAGE>
