发明名称 METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DISCHARGE EXCITATION FOR LASER OSCILLATOR
摘要 PURPOSE:To elongate a laser oscillator in discharge length when a laser output of high peak pulse waveform is required by a method wherein a discharge exciting device provided with a switching circuit which selectively actuates two cathodes is provided to the laser oscillator. CONSTITUTION:A discharge is made to start between an anode 13 and a cathode 17 when a laser output of high peak pulse waveform is required, that is, a discharge length is set longer than that between the anode 13 and the cathode 15. By this setup, a laser output is liable to become thermally saturated at a large discharge power but a laser oscillation is enhanced in the maximum efficiency, and a laser output of large power decreases in continuous excitation but a laser output is enhanced in peak value in pulse excitation. In result, a laser output of high peak pulse waveform can be shortened in piercing time at laser machining, so that an overall machining time can be much lessened.
