PURPOSE:To form a thin polyamide film on the surface of an AlN powder produced by the alkylaluminum process without infiltrating a liq. phase into the powder by coating the surface with a dibasic acid and dispersing the powder in a diamine soln. to cause a polymerization reaction on the surface. CONSTITUTION:The surface of the AlN powder grain produced by the alkylaluminum process is coated with a dibasic acid such as 1,8-octanedicarbonyl chloride or its derivative. The coated AlN powder is dispersed in a soln. of the diamine such as 1,6-diaminohexane or diamine derivative, and the dibasic acid and diamine are polycondensed on the AlN powder surface to form a polyamide film. Consequently, a polyamide coating layer excellent in resistance to water and heat and mechanical strength and capable of sufficiently protecting the AlN powder grain is effectively formed. |
