摘要 PURPOSE:To facilitate adjustment of frictional coefficient, to reduce change in the frictional coefficient caused by adhesion of water and oil and to stabilize frictional characteristics by compounding short fibers at a ratio of 2-65vol.% orientating this short fibers in the thickness direction and projecting a part of the short fiber from the surface. CONSTITUTION:Short fibers 3 prepd. by cutting in 1-5mm such fibers as a natural fibers such as cotton, wool and cellulose, synthetic fibers such as polyamide, polyester, vinylon and aramide fibers, metal fibers such as copper, stainless steel and steel fibers or inorg. fibers such as glass and ceramic fibers are compounded at a ratio of 2-65vol.% in an elastomeric base material 2 consisting of a natural rubber, a synthetic rubber, a urethane rubber, a thermoplastic elastomer, etc. In this case, as the short fibers are oriented in the thickness direction, stress in the axial direction is acted to the short fibers 3 against a compressive force in the thickness direction but the short fibers 3 work as a supporting rod to improve compression elasticity. It is possible thereby to obtain an abrasive member 1 which is hardly deformed even by receiving a large compressive force and has a large frictional force.
