CONTAINER SUBJECTED TO IN-MOLD LABELLING ON OUTER SURFACE OF CURVED SIDE WALL THEREOF AND PREPARATION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To apply in-mold labelling to the curved surface-containing part of the side surface of the outer wall of a container by forming the label applied to the outer surface of the curved side wall of the container by in-mold labeling so that the shape thereof consists of a bottom surface part and side wall surface parts and slits are provided on the extensions from the bottom surface part of the side wall surface parts in the connection parts of the bottom surface part and the side wall surface parts and fold lines or cut-out parts are provided to the side wall surface parts in the direction right-angled to the ends of the slits. CONSTITUTION:A label 7 guiding an injected resin is formed so that the bottom surface part 5 and side wall surface parts 6 thereof are integrally connected by connection strips 12 and slits 13 are cut in the side wall surface parts 6 on the extensions from the outer edges of the connection strips 12 and fold lines 14 connecting the ends of the slits 13 or cut-out parts 15 are formed to the side wall surface parts 6. This label 7 is received in a mold in such a state the side wall surface parts 6 are bent from the bottom surface part 5 by utilizing the fold lines 14 or the cut-out parts 15 and, when the injected resin is allowed to flow in the region between the core and cavity of the mold, the resin at the part of the bottom surface part flows as shown by an arrow and the flow of the resin shown by an arrow is generated at curved corner parts having no bottom surface part. Then, the label and the injected resin are integrated and the label can be applied to the outside surface part of a container having a flat surface or a curved surface.
