The circuit breaker includes a spiral spring (7) which drives a shaft (4) which is connected to the mechanism operating the mobile contacts of the circuit breaker. Each opening or closing movement of the contacts is achieved by a 180 degree rotation of the shaft. The mechanism includes a follower (35) which is intended to follow a spiral 'snail' line (40) on a disc. The rotation of the disc, and consequent movement of the follower is an indication of the energised state of the spiral spring. ADVANTAGE - Rapid action circuit breaker.
