PURPOSE:To analyze a melody efficiently with simple constitution by providing an analyzing means which retrieves the melody pattern rule in a melody pattern rule data base means and analyzes the melody. CONSTITUTION:A melody pattern rule data base F12 is stored with a set of melody pattern rules which define respective plural different melody patterns. A pattern inspection part 13 (analyzing means) receives a sequence of intervals regarding the melody from an interval evaluation part F4 and a sequence of the kinds of sound from a sound kind classification part F11 and retrieves the melody pattern rule matching those sequences in the melody pattern rule data base F12 to analyze the melody. Thus, the melody pattern rule data base means is given music knowledge required to analyze the melody as the data base, so a data drive type melody analyzer is realized and simplified in constitution. |
