PURPOSE:To lighten the processing load of a camera side CPU and to effectively utilize a ROM by allowing a lens CPU to compute the focal distance of each focal distance step and directly transmit the computed result to a camera side CPU. CONSTITUTION:The positional signals of plural divided focal distance steps of a photographing lens are detected by a position detecting means 37 and inputted to the lens CPU 30. In addition, the focal distance of one focal distance step detected by the means 37 is outputted to the CPU 30. The CPU 30 computes the focal distances of respective steps based upon these data and directly transmits the computed results to the camera side main CPU 10. Since the focal distance data are not always stored in the ROM, the ROM can be effectively utilized and the processing load of the main CPU 10 can be lightened. |
