PURPOSE:To protect security with a simple construction by providing a heating means which heats an ink ribbon contained in a containing means to melt ink remaining on the ink ribbon. CONSTITUTION:An ink ribbon 14 consists of a base film and an ink layer provided on the base film. The ink ribbon 14 comes into contact with a heating part 11a of a thermal head 11, the ink layer is melted, and recording is made on paper P. A heating roller 16 is disposed in contact with an ink ribbon cartridge 15a as a heating means for heating the ink ribbon 14 used for the recording on the paper P, i.e., the used ink ribbon 14 wound on the ink ribbon cartridge 15a as a containing means, thereby melting and setting the ink layer remaining on the base film of the used ink ribbon 14. A heat source roller 17 preheats a carry belt 9, thereby assisting the thermal head 11 to melt the ink layer of the ink ribbon 14. |
