The circuit detects the position of a revolving body by utilizing a disc having a coded pattern. The circuit includes: a micro processor (10) for accessing a revolving body position detecting data through proper input ports, and for converting the data to a proper format to output it; a data receiving circuit (40) for supplying the received data to the micro processor (10); a data transmitting section (50) for transmitting the data to a transmission line; a first set of light emitting diodes (60) for emitting light in accordance with the inputted signals; an nth set of light emitting diodes (70) for emitting light in accordance with the outputs of the micro processor (10); and first to nth sets of photo-transistor arrays (80)(90) consisting of respectively photo-transistors (81-84)(85-88).
