PURPOSE:To form an inorganic fiber sheet-like catalyst which has high strength and is uniform by vertically overlapping at least two sheets of network base material made of inorganic fiber so that the network pitches are made mutually different and burying the intervals thereof and the intervals of the meshes of the network base material by the catalytic component. CONSTITUTION:An inorganic fiber sheet-like catalyst is obtained by vertically overlapping at least two sheets of network base material made of inorganic fiber so that the pitches of meshes of the upper and lower network base materials are made mutually different and also burying the interval of the network base materials and the intervals of meshes thereof by the catalytic component. The ratio of the pitches of meshes of the upper to lower network base materials is preferably within (1:1.1)-(1:2). The shape of meshes of the network base material is a rectangle and also the said network base materials are preferably arranged so that the lengthwise directions of meshes thereof mutually form the orthogonal directions. Further the dimensional ratio of the long side to short side of meshes of the network base material made of inorganic fiber is preferably about 2:1.
